This series is inspired by my grandmother, who collected glass birds throughout her life. As children, my sisters and I would admire her collection, each choosing our favorites. When she passed, she left each of us a bird. Mine was a small blue glass bird that became a recurring motif in many of these pieces.
These works are both a tribute to her and a reflection on my own experiences as a woman. Through the glass bird, I explore themes of femininity, identity, and the expectations placed on women — along with the quiet strength found in defining ourselves beyond them.
